Episode 18 - Ric Lawyer

Ric Lawyer joins Bruce Palmer and Steve McLeod for the latest episode of Violations and Insults.
Ric Lawyer is a former president and a coach for the North Gold Coast Seahawks basketball club, with a history of leading teams to championships at both junior and senior levels, including coaching the Seahawks SBL team to six grand finals, winning four. Ric is also a glass artist with over 40 years experience. Upon relocating to Australia, he set up “The Glass Studio” in Mackay and started glass blowing at “The Fisherman’s Glass” studio. He then established his first hot gallery in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, continued in Kuwait and now has shop in Surfer’s Paradise.

Episode 17 - NBL Finals recap

In this episode of Violations and Insults, Bruce and Steve discuss game four and five of the NBL finals and also shout out Jesse Wagstaff, Davo Hickey, Matthew Dellavedova and Sam Froling. They also address rumours and whispers about New Zealand Breakers being sold, and Illawara Hawks owner Jared Novelly is seeking other owners to take over the NBL.

Episode 16 - Michele Timms

Australian basketball legend Michele Timms joins Bruce and Steve for another episode of Violations and Insults.
Michele is a basketball coach and former player who was won five WNBL championships. Michele has played five seasons for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA, and he was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008 and the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2015. In 2024, Michele became the third Australian to be inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame. These days, Michele is the director of the Michele Timms Basketball Academy.

Jeff’s illustrious career in the NBL began in 1994 as the Geelong Supercats Assistant Coach, the youngest full time coach appointment in NBL history at the time. Other roles include being the General Manager of the Brisbane Bullets including their championship year in 2006-07, a Senior Advisor role in the Minister for Sport for the QLD LNP government and also general manager to Adelaide 36ers during the pandemic.
